Perfume in Russia to go up
The Russian retail market of perfumery-cosmetic goods is in the top 10 in Europe and demonstrates a steady growth while in the countries of Western Europe reduces. This trend contributes enhancing the work of foreign companies on Russian market when manufacturing and distributing perfumery-cosmetic goods.
Perfumery-cosmetic market is one of the most successfully developing segments of the retail market basically. In 2010-2011, the pace of growth steadily increased due to the recovery of purchasing power and the growing demand for perfumery-cosmetic goods. In 2012, the rate of growth has slowed against the background of worsening of the economic situation in general. However, the volume of the market continued to grow. By geographical concentration there is a tendency of reduction of the total share of Moscow and St. Petersburg in the volume of sales due to aggressive expansion of federal chains to russian regions and development of local operators actually. If in 2010 total sales share of two largest Russian cities exceeded 30%, then in 2012 it was about 25 %. In medium term, the Moscow' and Saint-Petersburg' share will decrease while Volgograd, Samara, Voronezh, Krasnodar and other cities will grow, due to actively developing specialized perfumery-cosmetic chains.
